Ruyi Energy was born from a shared vision between two individuals who understand the power of teamwork, discipline, and breaking barriers. Group CEO Khutha Mchunu, known for his prowess as a South African rugby prop, and his partner Ben Makhaye saw a landscape in the fuel industry that needed fresh, authentic leadership.
Inspired by the tenacity and success of other young black industrialists, multiple conversations turned into a concrete plan. They recognized that passion needed to be paired with expertise. This realization led them to assemble a team of seasoned executives, bringing together a formidable 20+ years of collective experience in the fuel and logistics sector.
Together, they are on a mission to open up the industry, creating opportunities and delivering excellence. Their goal is to nurture Ruyi Energy into a giant of Southern Africa—a company that fuels growth, powers partnerships, and stands as a beacon of what’s possible.
